Public Citizen is a nonprofit consumer advocacy organization that accepts no government or corporate support. Public Citizen's Critical Mass Energy Program was founded in 1974 to oppose nuclear power and promote cleaner, safer energy alternatives. Our work involves organizing on the state and local level, researching and writing studies, monitoring relevant federal and state agencies, lobbying members of Congress, testifying in Congressional hearings, initiating litigation, and working with the press and citizen groups nationwide. To learn more about our work, visit our website at: http://www.citizen.org/cmep.

Our internship program emphasizes substantive projects. These often include researching and writing a report on a policy matter or corporate player. They may also include helping in a lobbying campaign, working with the media, and/or providing assistance to local organizations.
