The Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., is the world's largest museum complex and offers the world's largest museum internship program. The various museums, zoo's, research facilities and administrative offices which make up the institution provide interns with a broad range of activities and research in history, the arts, the sciences, and education. There are over 600 internships offered each year at the Smithsonian. Internships are offered at different organizations so visit www.si.edu for a complete listing. Most internships at the Smithsonian do not offer a stipend, nor do interns receive academic credit for the internship. However, the institution will cooperate with schools who wish to grant students academic credit for the internship.
