The IADB Junior Professional Program is a starting point for careers at the bank.  Assignments are available in the bank's traditional areas of economics, finance, business management, public administration, health, computer science, engineering or law or in emerging areas such as trade, labour, modernization of the state, governance and women in development. A variety of options are available for placements, including positions designed for those who have already completed their Master’s degree, as well as graduate and undergraduate students. Fluency in at least two of English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French is required for most positions.

 

To be eligible for the IDB Summer Employment Program, the candidate must be:

  • A citizen of one of the Bank's member countries.
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate university program, and returning to his/her studies in the fall.
  • Proficient in at least one of the official languages of the Bank (English, Spanish, Portuguese and French), preferably with a working knowledge of a second one.
  • Has not reached the age of 26 years as of June 1, of the year he/she wants to participate.
  • Candidates hired in the past by the IDB Summer Employee Program do not qualify.
