Internships for graduate students specializing in human rights are available at the High Commissioner/ Centre for Human Rights. Interns are involved  in the drafting of reports and the preparation of research papers, the servicing of meetings and other day-to-day work, depending on the exigencies of the Office. Interns involved in the servicing of the annual sessions of the Commission have diverse responsibilities including assisting in the preparation of summaries of daily meetings, analysis of the main trends of the debates, updating the list of speakers and the drafting of daily press releases. They should have a degree in a relevant discipline, such as International Law, Political Science, History or Social Sciences. The United Nations accepts no responsibility for costs arising from accidents and/ or illness incurred during an internship and the intern therefore has to have health insurance coverage.
