We, the co-chairs and executive staff of QFPC ‘09, welcome you to our conference homepage.
The Queen’s Foreign Policy Conference is a subsidiary of the Queen’s International Affairs Association, and is the only Queen’s conference dealing directly with the causes and effects of Canadian international action.
This year’s conference, Examining Canada's Global Identity: Involvement with International Organisations, deals with three major areas of activity in Canadian foreign policy. Military operations, development aid and trade relations will be the focus of QFPC ’09. Canadian action in these areas has increasingly greater influence and thus understanding Canada’s international stance is integral to forming an educated opinion of our nation’s actions and policy decisions.
QFPC ’09 will give you the tools and knowledge needed to asses Canada’s international stance. The discussions are structured to be as politically neutral as possible; however delegates have an opportunity to target areas of discussion.
This year’s conference promises to be a unique, engaging, and enlightening experience. We hope our sponsors, delegates and speakers will enjoy their time and expand their expertise.
Best,
James Salsman and Alexandra Petre
